DAYDEIC (Diabetes Awareness & You Diabetes Educator International Conference) was first held in the year 2016 in association with The Asiatic Society, Kolkata at the historic Vidyasagar Hall & the THEME country was USA. Since 2017, this conference is being organized to observe the ‘International Diabetes Educator’s DAY, 5th September (IDED)’ with the THEME: ‘Diabetes Educators: Time to pair up with (2017-2021)’. On the 6th DAYDEIC in 2021, the then International Diabetes Federation (IDF) President Prof. Andrew Boulton, UK, had joined us LIVE, virtually, and recognized our initiative to hold the IDED on the 5th of September, under whose grace we  declared the THEME for the next five years (2022-26) of IDED to be: ‘Access to Diabetes Education for ALL’.

To mark this year’s IDED, we are going to organize the 9th DAYDEIC on 8th September, 2024 with the THEME country as MALDIVES. Like previous years, our joint organizing partner of DAYDEIC is BADAS (Bangladesh Diabetic Samity). Prof. A.K. Azad Khan, President of BADAS and Prof. Apurba Kumar Mukherjee, President of DAY, would be overseeing the conference as the esteemed Patrons; Dr. Sujoy Majumdar and Dr. Mary D’Cruz, both Vice President of DAY, are as the esteemed Advisors; Mr. Indrajit Majumder, Founder Secretary of DAY and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Secretary of DAY, are as the Joint Organising Chairman and Ms. Sheryl Salis, Ms. Shubhda Bhanot, Ms. Kajal Hansda and Ms. Shimanti Chandra as the Joint Organising Secretaries of the 9th DAYDEIC, respectively. The virtual hall will be named after Prof. Akhtar Hussain, Ex President, International Diabetes Federation (IDF). There will be national & international speakers including from the THEME country and an array of different competitions. Keeping in mind the enormous support we are getting from around the globe specially from the Diabetes Educators community, we have decided to host the conference on virtual mode. We would like to cordially invite you to attend this annual academic feast and enhance your “socio-diabetological” experience with likeminded peers and experts and bring the conference to life.
