DAYDEIC

DAYDEIC (Diabetes Awareness & You Diabetes Educator International Conference) was first held in the year 2016 in association with The Asiatic Society, Kolkata at the historic Vidyasagar Hall & the THEME country was USA. Since 2017, this conference is being organized to observe the ‘International Diabetes Educator’s DAY, 5th September (IDED)’ with the THEME: ‘Diabetes Educators: Time to pair up with (2017-2021)’. On the 6th DAYDEIC in 2021, the then International Diabetes Federation (IDF) President Prof. Andrew Boulton, UK, had joined us LIVE, virtually, and recognized our initiative to hold the IDED on the 5th of September, under whose grace we  declared the THEME for the next five years (2022-26) of IDED to be: ‘Access to Diabetes Education for ALL’.

To mark this year’s IDED, we are going to organize the 8th DAYDEIC during 2nd & 3rd September, 2023 with the THEME country as BHUTAN. Like previous years, our joint organizing partner of DAYDEIC is BADAS (Bangladesh Diabetic Samity). Mr. Amlan Dutta, CDE & Working President of DAY and Ms. Kalpana Ray, Head, Capacity Building, DAY, would be overseeing the conference as the Joint Organising Chairperson and Mr. Indrajit Majumder, Ms. Kajal Hansda, Ms. Sheryl Salis and Ms. Shubhda Bhanot as the Joint Organising Secretaries of the 8th DAYDEIC, respectively. The virtual hall will be named after Dr. J.P. Bose, the pioneer of insulin initiation in India. There will be 25 scientific sessions, 30 national & international speakers and an array of different competitions. Very special attraction of this year is publication of two very useful books namely ‘Update for Diabetes Educators, 2023’ and ‘Update for Dietitians, 2023’.  The awards for the ‘Best Indian Diabetes Educator (2022-23)’ and ‘Best Indian Junior Diabetes Educator (2022-23)’ will also be presented on this occasion. Keeping in mind the enormous support we are getting from around the globe specially for Diabetes Educators topic, we have decided to host the conference on virtual mode. We would like to cordially invite you to attend in person, in the age of ‘new normal’, and enhance your “socio-diabetological” experience with likeminded peers and experts and bring the conference to life.

DELEGATE REGISTRATION is OPEN for  8th DAYDEIC and will be closed at 24.00 hours of 31st August, 2023. HURRY UP.
